Liz And Rachel Edlich Want You To Get Radical — About Your Skin

You could spend thousands of dollars on creams and serums that you hope will make your skin look and feel beautiful — but it might not. Or you could get excited by your skincare routine and when you have Radical Skincare products in your beauty bag. Founded by sisters (and BFFs) Rachel and Liz Edlich, Radical Skincare works with your skin to make it the best it can be. We spoke to the sisters about following in their father’s footsteps, staying true to who you are, and why it’s time to get radical in all areas of your life.

Your father was a famous plastic surgeon. How has his work influenced your approach to skincare?

Liz: Our father was an incredible plastic surgeon. He specialized in skin rejuvenation, healing, and reconstructive surgery. He actually started the burn unit at the University of Virginia and dedicated his life to research. He really embodies what “radical” means to us—so much that radical DNA is in our blood.

How do you balance family life with running a business?

Rachel: It’s very busy! Juggling two kids and all their activities is a lot. They’re six years apart, so that makes it even more complicated. This is my first year where I actually drop both kids off at the same school. I have bliss for one year! And then my oldest is off to middle school in Malibu, which is a 45-minute drive. I think the key for us is making sure one parent is home when the other is traveling. I don’t want my kids raised by someone else, though I have an amazing nanny who is truly part of the family.

Right, you need help, but you don’t want the nanny to be the sole caregiver.

Rachel: Exactly! I make it work. I wake up, start working, get the kids off to school, then go into the office all day. But I make it a priority to have dinner with my family. That gives me peace—cooking is therapeutic for me. It helps me transition into home time.

And that keeps some normalcy.

Rachel: Yes! Last year, we launched into 16 countries—five continents! If you don’t ground yourself, it can all get very out of whack fast.

That’s amazing. So, cooking helps you transition.

Rachel: Definitely. And having the kids participate, too. We just started a vegetable garden because my daughter came home with a bag of seeds and said, “Mommy, I want to plant.” I was like, “Are you sure? Because that’s a real commitment!” But we did it, and now they love watching things grow. It’s exciting for them to see where food comes from.

What’s it like working together as sisters?

Liz: People ask us that all the time! Honestly, it’s the easiest thing ever. There’s no one else I’d rather work with. We’re best friends.

Rachel: We balance each other out. We have similar strengths, but where one of us is weak, the other is strong. We don’t fight; we don’t compete. It’s just easy.

That’s rare!

Liz: I know! We were in a meeting yesterday, and a branding team was presenting something to us, and we both shook our heads at the exact same time. They were suggesting we tell a more dramatic story, but if it’s not true, we don’t do it. Our whole thing is authenticity.

Let’s talk about Radical Skincare.

Liz: Our mission has always been about honesty. We put the money in the bottle, not around it. We’re not celebrities. We’re not 22-year-old models. I’m 50, and my sister is 44. We just want to look and feel our best.

Rachel: And that’s why we focus on potency and performance. We’ve been in the business for 20 years, creating over 100 products, and we know what works. If it’s not potent, it’s not going to work. Our commitment is to radical results.

Your father’s influence is clear in your work.

Liz: Definitely. Our dad was truly radical. He graduated high school at 15, college at 18, medical school at 22. He was one of the most famous surgeons in the world. And for 50% of his career, he was immobile from the neck down due to multiple sclerosis, but that never stopped him. He went above and beyond to make a difference, and that’s the legacy we carry on.

That’s incredible. So, what makes Radical Skincare different?

Rachel: We created Radical Skincare without worrying about margins. We wanted the most powerful ingredients possible. Our latest technology is a game-changer—it stabilizes antioxidants to keep them potent. It’s all about maximum results, with strong values and a commitment to empowering people.

That’s an amazing mission.

Liz: Thank you! It’s about more than skincare—it’s about confidence, empowerment, and making a difference. It’s in our DNA…that radical DNA.
