This Leprechaun Pee Trick Will Make Your Child Think Twice Before Going To The Bathroom

On St. Patrick’s Day, you either go green—or go home. And leprechauns are the MVPs are the MVPs of mischief making. They lead the pack in pulling pranks and causing general chaos. But all that mischief-making can be time consuming, and at some point, leprechaun may need to visit the loo. So if you’re looking for a fun craft that celebrates these Irish fairy cobblers, this leprechaun pee activity is a good gross gag that your kids will love.

Apart from all the pinching that leprechauns do, they are an integral part of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. This popular religious holiday originates in Ireland and honors St. Patrick, a 5th-century Christian missionary who is credited for bringing Christianity to many parts of Ireland.

So how did leprechauns, which are known for being tricksters, become the face of St. Patrick’s Day? Well, for many, they represent some of the cultural aspects of St. Patrick’s Day. They’re akin to the Easter Bunny, and (ahem) Santa Claus. Representing wealth and luck, they are fiercely protective of their pots of gold found at the end of a rainbow.

But their life of luxury didn’t start out that way. Leprechauns are Irish fairies who work as humble shoemakers and are largely loners. But with a packed schedule on St. Patrick’s Day, they’ll need to pee somewhere—and there’s no better bathroom than the one in your home. And that’s when the leprechaun pee prank comes into play.

To pull off the leprechaun pee prank, all you really need are a few drops of green food coloring dropped into your toilet water. Don’t worry about, um, mixing the toilet water; the green food dye will disperse and color the water naturally.

Now, if you want to take this activity to the next level, find what leprechauns love almost as much as their gold—shoes. Using non-toxic and clothing-safe green paint, take a brush and carefully paint the soles of a pair of shoes. You can use any size shoe (little ones can look better and more accurately depict the size of fairy shoes), or you can really leave an impression by painting the biggest pair of shoes possible.

Here comes the fun part. Once the soles are good and green, place them on either side of the toilet and press down. Leave the shoes on the toilet for about 10-15 seconds to make a complete footprint and then lift the shoes up vertically to avoid smudging. Give the paint time to dry and then bring the toilet lid down to cover up your craft.

When it’s rise and shine time, your child will be shocked to see that a leprechaun not only visited their home, but peed by standing on the toilet, too! But if you have a heavy sleeper who staggers to the bathroom, they just might accidentally sit on the seat and get a green butt. That’s why you should leave extra time in case your child needs to take a bath to wash their green gluteus maximus.

The leprechaun pee prank is a fun, fast, (and gross) way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. And after the prank has been pulled off, your child definitely deserves to get some of that gold at the end of the leprechauns, like chocolate gold coins. It just might make that leprechaun think twice before tinkling in your toilet.

hey’ve got a full schedule on St. Patrick’s Day, what with pinching people, who don’t wear green and mending shoes. And
