It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which can only mean one thing. All around the world, Scout Elves are preparing to leave Santa Claus’ side and head to the homes of their loving families. But if your Elf has to fly the friendly skies in order to get to your house, does your Elf on the Shelf need to quarantine?
Although the Coronavirus is causing millions of families to change how they’re going to spend the holidays, at least you can count on your Elf on the Shelf to spread holiday cheer — and not, you know, COVID. In fact, the man himself, Mr. C. weighed in on the subject. “All Scout Elves are 100% healthy,” Santa Claus said in a statement received by The Lumistella Company, home of the Elf on the Shelf. “And since they are magical beings from the North Pole, they do not get human sicknesses and do not need to quarantine or wear masks.”
While there’s really no chance of your Elf getting sick, they might still choose to wear a mask, because, well, it’s the right thing to do. “They do like to set a good example for humans and may choose to model safety protocols for their families,” Santa Claus continued. So if you’re planning to have family come over, you may want your Elf on the Shelf to mask up just as your kiddos will.
Although face masks aren’t technically a part of the Elf on the Shelf Claus Couture Collection, you can always find Elf on the Shelf face masks all over Etsy. There are even tons of tutorials online that can teach you how to make one as well. Elf on the Shelf also offers free mask printables that you can leave out for your Elf in case they want to quarantine and show good mask-wearing behavior.
Even though the holidays this year might look and feel very different, there’s still so much joy and happiness to experience — for both you and your kids. And the Elf on the Shelf is one way to keep your holiday traditions alive and create fun moments with your family. After all, as Santa Claus says: “In a year when many are longing for a comforting return to the celebrations of the season, Santa’s Scout Elves are ready to bring joy and good cheer to all!”
