Sweeten the cold winter days with a delish Peppermint Hot Chocolate Bomb! Music for Aardvarks And Other Mammals creator David Weinstone gave us this recipe he makes with his three sons. It’s a fun, yummy way to warm up and share some major Q time in the kitchen with your kids.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate Bomb:

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup hot water
4 cups of milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Colored sugar sparkles
Whipped cream
4 peppermint sticks

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients (except colored sugar sparkles) in the same pan you are going add the liquids to. Add the hot water in first and stir until it boils and mixes together. Turn down the heat to medium, stir in the milk and vanilla but don’t let it boil! Remove from the heat and let cool. Pour the cocoa into the mugs, and then let your kids go crazy with the whipped cream! Put a pinch or two of the colored sugar on top. Plunk a peppermint stick in each mug and boom! You got a Peppermint Hot Chocolate Bomb!
