How to Harvest Your Energy for Fall

The temperature is starting to take a tumble, and there’s the smell of pumpkin spice in the air. No doubt about it; fall is the season when you might start to think about hunkering down for the winter. But for many people, fall can equal a fresh start, says Stephanie Merchant, the Food & Lifestyle Expert at The Nutrition Mom. She offers these tips on how to harvest your energy for fall!

Get Outside

Although you might be tempted to curl up on the couch and binge watch The Real Housewives, you should get up–and out the door. “Getting out in nature, even just for a short walk, is a great stress buster and can leave you feeling renewed and energized,” says Merchant. Plus, the cool, crisp air is absolutely invigorating.

Be Thankful

More than any other month, November is the month for thankfulness. So adopt an attitude of gratitude by waking up or going to bed thinking of 3 things that you are grateful for. It can give you much-needed boost and help can change your perspective to a much more positive one.

Enjoy The Harvest

With all the vibrant, seasonal veggies that are available in the fall, there’s definitely no doubt that the end of the year brings great food to our tables. Make plans to share the harvest with friends and/or family. Laugh, connect, enjoy one another. As Merchant points out: “True nourishment comes from relationships just as much as from our food.”
